Rehearsals Wednesdays 6 - 9:45 PM at Lutheran Church of the Cross
Cantando is our ensemble for experienced high school singers 15 to 18 years of age, which made its debut in the 2002 - 2003 season. In weekly rehearsals, these advanced singers are challenged to new heights of musical sophistication through the study of high quality repertoire. Cantando offers experiences for guys with changed voices, gals singing advanced treble literature, and both joining together to explore the mixed choral repertoire. As our senior singers, one of Cantando’s most important roles is to serve as mentors for our younger singers.
Cantando has been featured in performances at prestigious events throughout the province, including those for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Alberta in 2005; the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Mother’s Day Luncheon; Calgary Opera’s’ Impresario Dinner; and Foster’s Garden Chapel Candlelight Memorial Service. Members of Cantando were also featured as soloists as the Three Spirits in Calgary Opera's production of the Magic Flute.
Cantando regularly performs and tours with our ensemble Cantaré known as Cantidad.
