With the updated guidelines on Singing & Vocal Performance, we are thrilled to be back making music together!


 

Key Public Health Updates

  1. Group Singing (indoors and outdoors) is now permitted with proper precautions under Alberta Relaunch Guidelines (see below)

  2. Masks must be worn by all participants at all times - Outdoors and Indoors.

  3. Singers will maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres from each other

  4. After 30-45 minutes of singing, the rehearsal room must be cleared and ventilated

What to Expect at Our Weekly Rehearsals

Mask Policy

  • Choristers will wear masks at all times both when singing and when not singing

  • Parents are required to wear masks for drop-off/ announcements/ pick-up. Parents in the building as volunteers must wear masks at all times

  • Conductors, Accompanists, and staff are required to wear masks at all times

Physical Distancing

  • Choristers will sit in assigned seats spaced no less than 2 metres from each other. Parents will sit with their child in their child’s assigned area for announcements and any additional information meetings.

  • Weather permitting, rehearsals and other activities will take place outdoors for increased distancing and air exchange

  • All families will enter and exit the building in specific enter/exit doors to reduce congestion

  • All accompanists will be stationed behind dividers

Cleaning and Sanitization

  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at all entrance/exit points as well as in all rehearsal locations. Choristers are encouraged to use these stations frequently as needed.

  • All rehearsal rooms will be ventilated with a HEPA air purifier before and after each use

  • Rehearsal rooms will be cleaned and sanitized regularly

Symptom-Free Policy

  • Choristers are required to stay home from rehearsal if they are feeling sick, including but not limited to: Fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, or difficulty breathing

  • Choristers will have their temperatures taken and recorded during sign in

  • Upon arrival, choristers will be asked a series of symptom-check questions

Choristers who are unable to attend rehearsals due to health or personal comfort are able to tune in to our rehearsals via ZOOM.

Please Note: In addition to the guidance and policies from Alberta Health, there are many factors which influence our rehearsal procedures. These measures are subject to change as the situation develops. This page will be updated and our parents and choristers will receive regular communiques regarding any further changes and updates.
