Graeme Climie, BCom.
Graeme’s endless energy and passion for music began in Kodaly classes and 14 thrilling years in Cantare Children’s Choir. Now an established professional chorister comfortable in many stylistic environments, Graeme is Core Member of Canada’s premier professional chamber choir, Pro Coro Canada, and has frequently appeared with the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, Calgary Opera, Luminous Voices, Spiritus Chamber Choir, Voicescapes Calgary, Early Music Voices, Axios Men’s Ensemble, and Vocal Renegades. Graeme represented Alberta in the National Youth Choir of Canada on three occasions and is a current member of the World Youth Choir. Graeme obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary’s prestigious Haskayne School of Business in 2019, specializing in marketing, entrepreneurship, and not-for-profit management. He has combined his business acumen with a passion for videography and recording to become a dedicated advocate for bringing modern digital business practices into the unique environment of the choral world. Graeme is proud to be beginning his 20th season as a member of the Cantare organization.
Vocal Coach
Bronte Allegro, BMus, PBPD
Soprano, vocal coach and Musicianship Instructor earned a Bachelor of Music with a major in voice from the University of Manitoba under the tutelage of Valdine Anderson and Mel Braun. She furthered her studies in Winnipeg with a performance diploma under guidance from the esteemed Canadian Soprano, Monica Huisman, that culminated in the completion of her first recital “Spotlight” in the spring of 2022. She is a passionate and active member of the Canadian Choral Community having performed with many choirs including; the University of Manitoba Singers, Cantata Singers & Women’s Chorus; Calgary Opera; Prairie Voices; and most recently Pro Coro Canada as part of their CONNECT Program. Bronte is currently the soprano section lead at Christ Church Elbow Park and is delighted to become more connected to the professional music community in her home city. She is excited to further connect to her roots of her passion for music as part of the Cantare faculty this year, after 8 years as a chorister and multiple seasons as a staff intern.
Connie Weryshko BEd, DipFA (Kodaly)
provides an exceptional foundation of teaching experience as workshop clinician for our choirs. She is co-founder of Cantate Music School which offered the Kodàly Music Explorers Programme for young children for twelve years. Following many highly successful years as an elementary classroom teacher with the Calgary Board of Education, Connie taught in the Early Childhood Kodàly Musicianship Program at Mount Royal College Conservatory for 8 years.
As a music director for Foothills Lutheran Church, she developed music programs and activities for children and still serves as organist and choir accompanist. She has also taught private piano and theory lessons.
Connie has been part of our Cantaré faculty since the inception of our choir.
